Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has insisted that his side are highly motivated to bounce back from the weekend's derby disappointment against Liverpool in the League Cup on Wednesday.
United suffered a crushing 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium yesterday, with Rooney's free kick proving to be scant consolation.
He told GiveMeSport: "Disappointing game yesterday, our performance just wasn't good enough.
"It's up to us as players to put it right now and there can be no better game to motivate us than facing Liverpool in the cup on Wednesday."
The 27-year-old has scored four goals in his three starts since returning from a head injury.
