Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has reportedly been left 'surprised' by his sudden exclusion from the Red Devils starting XI, having seemingly established himself in the side.
Dalot was installed as the team's first-choice right-back after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as head coach, with the Portugal international taking Aaron Wan-Bissaka's spot in the side.
The 22-year-old has not played since the 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on February 15, though, being an unused substitute in his side's last three Premier League games, in addition to the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League towards the end of last month.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Dalot's sudden withdrawal has left him bemused, particularly with Wan-Bissaka struggling for form since his own return.
The defender's future at Old Trafford remains unclear, as he has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the club, and a number of sides are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Dalot has made 20 appearances for Man United this season, while he has represented the club on 55 occasions in total since arriving from Porto in July 2018. body check tags ::
