Marouane Fellaini and Robert Huth have both been issued with violent conduct charges by the Football Association.
The pair have been penalised for an incident that occurred during the first half of the 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
At a corner, Huth appeared to pull the hair of United midfielder Fellaini, who responded by elbowing the Leicester defender in the face.
The altercation was missed by the match officials at the time, which has prompted the game's governing body to intervene.
Both players have been given until 6pm tomorrow to respond to their respective charges.
If found guilty, it is expected that the FA will dish out three-match suspensions.
