Erik ten Hag has insisted that he will go "somewhere else" to win trophies if he is relieved of his duties as Manchester United manager.

Reports emerged on the eve of Saturday's FA Cup final that new Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe had decided that they would sack Ten Hag following the Wembley showdown with Manchester City.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ten Hag oversaw a narrow 2-1 win over Manchester City to guide Man United to their first FA Cup success in eight years.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo grab a goal apiece to give the Red Devils a precious two-goal advantage at the break.

Belgium international Jeremy Doku pulled a goal back in the 87th minute, but Ten Hag's side ultimately saw out the remainder of the contest to claim the silverware.

Ten Hag gives defiant response to sack claims

Ten Hag has added the FA Cup trophy to the EFL Cup that he won last season, securing Man United Europa League football for next term.

Although it is unclear whether he will stay in his role, Ten Hag has insisted that he will continue to win trophies whether its with Man United or a different club.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Ten Hag said: "Two trophies in two years is not bad. Three finals in two years is not bad.

"I'm not satisfied with it. We have to do better. If they don't want me, then I go somewhere else to win trophies because that is what I do."

Ten Hag reveals INEOS talks

When asked whether he still has the support of Ratcliffe and his INEOS colleagues, Ten Hag said: "That is what they always tell me."

Upon further questioning, the Man United boss added: "How many times do I have to tell you? Every time is the same question. Do I have to repeat myself 10, 15, 20 times?

"They don't have to tell me every week if they tell me so often. I never - and I was in some clubs before - [been told] every day you are the best and I want to build with you. I heard it many times."

Thomas Tuchel is seemingly leading the race to succeed Ten Hag should the Man United hierarchy opt for a change of manager.

The Red Devils are also believed to be considering Mauricio Pochettino, Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna and Brentford's Thomas Frank. body check tags ::
