Netherlands assistant coach Patrick Kluivert has backed Louis Van Gaal for the Manchester United job, insisting that he should be "first pick" for any club.
The 62-year-old Dutch coach is the favourite to succeed David Moyes at Old Trafford, following the Scot's sacking after 10 months in charge.
Kluivert, who currently works under Van Gaal, believes that his compatriot would be the ideal choice for United, citing his work with young players as a key factor.
"He would be absolutely the first pick of any club, especially top teams everywhere in the world," Kluivert told talkSPORT. "He likes to let young players make their debut if ready for it.
"The most important thing at the moment is I'm personally enjoying working with him and with the Dutch national team. We're going to the World Cup and hope to do well."
Kluivert is likely to be part of Van Gaal's backroom staff should the former Barcelona coach land the job, according to reports.
