Manchester United have confirmed that they are likely to be without midfielder Michael Carrick until late December due to an Achilles injury.
Reports emerged overnight claiming that the England international could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he withdrew from the England squad yesterday.
Following the speculation, the Premier League champions have now confirmed that Carrick could be out of action for four to six weeks.
The 32-year-old competed in the full 90 minutes of United's 1-0 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
