Premier League predictions gameweek 25: Solar Eyes vs. Sports Mole

:Headline: Premier League predictions gameweek 25: Solar Eyes vs. Sports Mole:
Sports Mole takes on Solar Eyes for a Premier League predictions challenge in gameweek 25 of the 2023-24 season.
Sports Mole

After serving up an instant Premier League classic in the reverse fixture, Manchester City and Chelsea meet again in the headline fixture of gameweek 25.

That heavyweight showdown concludes a busy Saturday which sees seven matches, beginning with leaders Liverpool making the trip to face Brentford.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also feature on what promises to be another pivotal day in the title race, while on Sunday Manchester United visit Luton Town.

Gameweek 25 then comes to an end on Monday night when Everton take on Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Each gameweek, Sports Mole is taking on a famous musician or band in a prediction competition, and this week it is the turn of Solar Eyes.

Solar Eyes Q&A

How did you come to support Birmingham and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

I had no choice. I'm from South Birmingham, which is a Birmingham City stronghold. My mum is a die-hard Birmingham City fan, so much so in the 90s she formed the Blues Action Group to keep the club alive, as we were under the ownership of the Kumar Brothers.

She even got a call from the receivers saying: "The club has been sold to a woman". The woman turned out to be Karren Brady. I went my first game when I was two weeks old or something, mum says we drew 0-0, which sounds about right.

I think the times under Barry Fry were my favourite memories – we were in the third tier, had 73 players, but it seemed fun. I was only a kid but I only missed one game all season. Home and away we went.

Ricky Otto – was signed, he'd done a stint in jail for armed robbery, was awful for us. Steve Claridge, Paul Tait, Liam Daish, Mark Ward. Proper.

Who have been your favourite five players for your club? (Historically or currently)

So Lukas Jutkiewicz as he's my mate as well! But joking aside, he has been our talisman through some very tough times.

Jose Dominguez – little Portuguese lad, who was a maverick. Paul Tait – for the T-shit and being nuts. Christophe Dugarry – kept us up in the 2002-03 season. Wonderful player. Barry Ferguson – was different class, midfield maestro.

What's going on with the band at the moment?

So, we're just putting our debut album out – Feb 16th! Our latest single 'Let's Run Away' has been on Match of the Day, Sky Sports, ITV Racing and even played at Juventus' last home game, which is mental.

Then it's a case of playing as many shows as possible. We have a big album launch party at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath on Feb 16 as well.

Check out 'Let's Run Away', the latest release from Solar Eyes, available on all digital streaming platforms now.
