Brighton & Hove Albion come from two goals behind to beat Charlton Athletic 3-2, restoring their position at the top of the Championship table.

Brighton & Hove Albion have scored three second-half goals to come back from a two-goal half-time deficit against Charlton Athletic, restoring their position at the top of the Championship while continuing their unbeaten streak in the league to 19 games.

Teenager Ademola Lookman opened the scoring after two minutes, converting from Reza Ghoochannejhad's pass.

Ghoochannejhad doubled the Addicks' lead in the sixth minute, connecting at the back post with Johann Gudmundsson's cross, which had just evaded Ricardo Vaz Te.

The first half saw Brighton keeper David Stockdale make several close-range saves, as Ghoochannejhad, Gudmunssson and Lookman all had excellent chances to increase Charlton's lead before the half-time whistle.

The second period saw Brighton get a goal back with just five minutes played, as James Wilson picked up the ball 25 yards out before going on a mazy run which saw him beat four Charlton players.

Having made it to the penalty spot, the on-loan Manchester United striker stabbed an effort past Addicks keeper Stephen Henderson to hand Chris Hughton's side a lifeline.

Karel Fraeye's outfit were reduced to 10 men with a half-hour remaining in the tie, as Patrick Bauer was given a straight red for taking down Bobby Zamora when the forward was straight through on goal.

It was Zamora who hauled the Seagulls back on level terms in the 83rd minute, firing home from a Solomon March cutback.

Substitute Tomer Hemed, who lost his place in the starting lineup to Wilson, got the winner a minute later as he headed past Henderson.

Brighton return to the top of the league table following their comeback, after Middlesbrough had taken top spot with a 2-0 away victory over Ipswich Town.
