Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel is reportedly the favourite to replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager this summer, but there are also said to be two other names on the club's shortlist.
The 20-time English champions have allegedly made the decision to sack Ten Hag once the 2023-24 campaign has concluded due to the team's struggles during the current season.
According to inews, Tuchel, who is leaving Bayern this summer, is regarded as the favourite, with the German said to be open to the idea of taking charge of the Red Devils.
However, the report claims that Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim is also being considered, while Graham Potter remains an option for the club.
Amorim, at one stage, appeared destined to move to Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp's replacement, but Arne Slot is now preparing to leave Feyenoord to take over the Merseyside giants.
Ruben Amorim, Graham Potter 'both in the frame'
Potter, 48, has been without a managerial position since leaving Chelsea in April 2023, and he is said to he admired by Man United's new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team at INEOS.
However, while Amorim and Potter are options, it is believed that Tuchel is firmly at the head of the queue.
Tuchel previously managed in England between January 2021 and September 2022, taking charge of 100 matches for Chelsea, boasting a record of 60 wins, 24 draws and 16 defeats.
The German won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge before leaving in September 2022, and he was then appointed Bayern manager in March 2023.
Thomas Tuchel 'viewed as favourite to replace Erik ten Hag'
The 50-year-old won the Bundesliga title last season, but Bayer Leverkusen have been confirmed as German champions for the 2023-24 campaign.
Tuchel can still deliver the Champions League title to the Munich giants, though, with the team currently in Spain for the second leg of their semi-final with Real Madrid.
Bayern are believed to be interested in appointing Ten Hag as their new manager this summer, so the Dutchman and Tuchel could potentially swap clubs at the end of the campaign.
Man United will finish their Premier League season with matches against Arsenal, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, before facing Manchester City in the FA Cup final at the end of May.
There are also expected to be a number of player exits this summer, with Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen allegedly likely to be the first four to depart. body check tags ::
