Ajax lost a number of key players during the recent summer transfer window, with Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Sebastien Haller, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui among those to move on.
However, the Dutch champions have still managed to make a brilliant start to the 2022-23 campaign, winning all five of their Eredivisie matches to sit atop the table with 15 points.
Meanwhile, Alfred Schreuder's team opened their Champions League campaign with a 4-0 victory over Rangers in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.
Ajax have a history when it comes to producing and indeed developing players, and the club are likely to again find it difficult next year to keep hold of their most talented individuals.
However, Sports Mole has picked out another three players who could depart the club either in January or during next summer's transfer window.
Jurrien Timber (defender)
Jurrien Timber was strongly linked with a move away from Ajax over the summer, with Manchester United believed to have made a strong attempt to bring him to Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old ultimately remained in Amsterdam and signed a new deal, with his current agreement now due to run until June 2025.
Another strong campaign for the Netherlands international is likely to lead to more interest surrounding his services, though, and it would certainly not be a shock to see the defender leave next year.
Capable of playing as a right-back or a centre-back, Timber has already made seven appearances for Ajax this term, playing a leading role in their success in 2022-23.
Timber is expected to be in action for the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup, which could see his stock rise further, and Ajax will surely lose him sooner or later due to his immense talent.
Edson Alvarez (midfielder)
Chelsea were strongly linked with Edson Alvarez in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, with the Blues believed to have been pushing to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
A recent report claimed that the Blues are planning to reignite their interest in January, with the 24-year-old seemingly set to leave the Amsterdam giants at some stage over the next year.
Alvarez has made 109 appearances for Ajax since arriving from Club America, contributing 10 goals and five assists in the process.
The Mexico international is a holding midfielder, but he has been impressive going forward this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in six appearances in all competitions.
Chelsea are unlikely to be alone in terms of interested clubs considering Alvarez's talent, but Ajax have him on a deal until June 2025, so they are in a strong position to demand a high transfer fee.
Kenneth Taylor (midfielder)
Kenneth Taylor made 13 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax last season, while he also featured on three occasions in the Champions League, with the midfielder making the transition into the first team.
The 20-year-old has been a vital player for the Dutch club this term, featuring on seven occasions in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process.
In the league, the midfielder has managed two goals and one assist in five outings, while he starred against Rangers in the Champions League last week.
According to WhoScored, Taylor boasted an 88% pass success rate in the European affair, completing 51 of his 58 passes, while he also contributed to his side keeping a clean sheet.
There are likely to be a number of clubs closely monitoring the youngster, who has been capped at Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-17s level by the Netherlands.
