Arsenal have reportedly identified Norwich City right-back Max Aarons as an ideal replacement for Hector Bellerin.
Having seemingly lost his place as Mikel Arteta's first-choice right-back to Calum Chambers in recent weeks, there is a growing expectation that Bellerin will leave the club in the summer.
As a result, Arteta is thought to be pursuing options in that area for the 2021-22 campaign, but any hopes of the Gunners signing Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan appear to be dead in the water after he confirmed his desire to remain at San Siro.
According to 90Min, Arsenal will now prioritise a deal for Aarons, who played an instrumental role in Norwich's successful promotion push back to the Premier League.
Despite reported interest from West Ham United, Everton and Manchester United, the report claims that Arsenal are confident of securing Aarons's signature, and Norwich will sanction an exit if they receive a fee of £30m.
The 21-year-old has scored two goals and set up four more in 43 Championship appearances this term, and he came close to signing for Barcelona last summer before a deal fell through. body check tags ::
