Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa.
The Yorkshire giants pulled off somewhat of a coup when they won the race to sign the United States international from RB Leipzig last summer.
Adams would go on to make a total of 24 starts for Leeds in the Premier League, establishing himself as a key player at the club.
However, the 24-year-old was unable to prevent Leeds from suffering relegation from the top flight, something which is expected to lead to major changes at Elland Road.
While Leeds have already revealed that they will be under different ownership for 2023-24, they remain without a manager courtesy of Sam Allardyce leaving at the end of his caretaker stint.
Nevertheless, that is not to say that club officials will not consider offers for their players at this stage of the summer, an acknowledgement that they will have to balance the books in some form.
According to the Daily Mail, that may come through cashing in on Adams if the club receive a suitable offer over the coming weeks.
The report suggests that Brighton and Villa are among the clubs who are toying with the possibility of spending £25m on Adams ahead of their appearances in Europe.
Each club has money to spend with Brighton finishing in sixth place in the Premier League and earning a Europa League spot, while Villa will enter the Europa Conference League at the playoff stage having secured seventh spot.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is in the process to rejigging his midfield with Alexis Mac Allister having already joined Liverpool and Moises Caicedo expected to join him in leaving the Amex Stadium for another Premier League club.
Villa have already boosted their options in the centre of the pitch with the acquisition of Youri Tielemans, yet Unai Emery is seemingly eager to add another fresh face for the engine room.
Although Adams has four years left on his Leeds deal, it is suggested that a relegation release clause may be present in the contract that he signed last year.
Manchester United were credited with an interest in Adams last month, although it is unclear whether the Red Devils will pursue an offer with other targets being eyed by Erik ten Hag. body check tags ::
