Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly slapped a £60m price tag on the head of Achraf Hakimi amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Morocco right-back has been a standout performer for the French champions in the 2022-23 campaign with four goals and five assists from 36 matches in all competitions.

A couple of months after Hakimi won the Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2021, PSG forked out €68m (£60.2m) to bring him to the Parc des Princes, and he has amassed a total of eight goals and 11 assists in 77 outings over the past two years.

Hakimi's efforts have helped PSG open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table with six games to go, although they were dumped out of the Champions League last 16 once again by Bayern Munich.

Despite his reputation as one of the leading players in his position in Europe, as well as his long-running contract until 2026, Hakimi is not thought to be an indispensable member of PSG's squad.

Chelsea and Man United are both believed to have taken a liking to the 24-year-old, and according to Football Insider, PSG are open to offers around the £60m mark in the upcoming window.

Such a bid would see Les Parisiens recoup the fee that they paid for his services in 2021, and the French champions apparently believe that the price is "very reasonable".

As a result, PSG will refuse to budge on their £60m asking price for the former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund man, who also shone during Morocco's historic run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.

Hakimi could be let go as part of a significant squad overhaul at the Parc des Princes, as PSG focus on nurturing young talent rather than signing big-name stars in the upcoming window.

The 24-year-old has been embroiled in controversy off the field in recent months, though, as allegations of rape against the defender emerged on the night of FIFA's The Best awards back in February.

Reports were broken a couple of hours before Hakimi attended the ceremony, where he collected his honour for being named in the Men's World XI.

In early March, the PSG man was given preliminary charges of rape by French prosecutors, although a lawyer for Hakimi has affirmed that he denies the allegations.

Man United are still facing uncertainty over the futures of Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and could be in the market for a new right-back this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong understood to be a prime target.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have lost Reece James to a season-ending hamstring injury - the latest in a long line of physical problems for the 23-year-old, who signed a new six-year contract at Stamford Bridge back in September.

The Blues apparently tried to bring Hakimi to West London in 2021 before he joined PSG, and they are planning to revive their interest ahead of the 2023-24 season. body check tags ::
