Ander Herrera is reportedly planning to hold talks with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as he is concerned about his place in the team.
The Spaniard, who moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao for £29m in the summer of 2014, has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team.
The midfielder, who is currently nursing a hamstring injury, has started six Premier League games this season, but is constantly in and out of the team.
According to the Daily Star, Herrera is worried about his future at Old Trafford and will have showdown talks with Van Gaal to discuss his role in the team.
The report adds that the midfielder is concerned that he will miss earning a spot in the Spain squad for next summer's European Championships if he is not playing regularly.
Herrera's contract expires in 2018.
