Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that his club are in talks with Manchester United over a possible loan extension for Alexis Sanchez.
The 31-year-old's stay at San Siro has been extended until August 7 due to the rescheduled Serie A campaign, while he will also be available for their Europa League last-16 clash with Getafe.
Antonio Conte's side will be looking to make the latter stages of the Europa League, though, and they are in talks with United over an extension to cover the rest of their European campaign.
"We have had some contact with Manchester United to understand if we can extend his stay after the Europa League playoff with Getafe," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.
The Chile international has scored three times and contributed 10 assists in 26 appearances for Inter this season, including three goals and nine assists in 19 Serie A outings.
The Italian giants are allegedly still weighing up the possibility of signing Sanchez on a permanent deal this summer, although the attacker's substantial wages could be an issue.
