Manchester United have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace right-back Nathaniel Clyne.
The Premier League champions first came into contact with the 20-year-old during their shock Carling Cup defeat to Palace in the quarter-final showdown last month.
A number of Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in Clyne, which has alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to step up his pursuit of the defender, according to the Daily Mail.
It is understood that the 69-year-old boss is eager to fill the spot of Red Devils legend Gary Neville.
