Manchester United are considering a move for Porto midfielder James Rodriguez.
Sir Alex Ferguson sent a scout to the watch the 20-year-old during the Portuguese club's 4-0 Europa League loss at Manchester City on Wednesday, according to The Metro.
The Colombia international moved to Estádio do Dragão in 2010 and was rewarded with an improved contract last year after netting a hat-trick in the Portuguese Cup final.
The winger's superb form has continued into this campaign and the player has scored 10 goals so far this term.
Rodriguez, who is known as the South American Cristiano Ronaldo, has a £38m release clause in his contract.
