Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Donny van de Beek for £8.6m during this summer's transfer window.
The Netherlands international made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2020, with the Red Devils believed to have paid Ajax in the region of £35m to secure his signature.
The 26-year-old has struggled to make his mark for the 20-time English champions, only managing two goals and two assists in 62 appearances in all competitions, and he was sent on loan to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt during the January transfer window.
Frankfurt have the option to sign Van de Beek on a permanent basis this summer, but a recent report claimed that the Bundesliga side are not planning to bring him in on a long-term deal.
The German club have allegedly been underwhelmed by the Dutchman's displays, and he has only played 18 minutes of football in his loan club's last three Bundesliga matches.
Van de Beek has a contract with the Red Devils until June 2025, but he is not expected to play for the club again, with a departure this summer set to occur providing that a buyer can be found.
According to Soccer News, Man United would be willing to let the midfielder leave for just £8.6m, with Ajax said to be interested in bringing him back to the club.
Van de Beek starred during his first spell with the Amsterdam giants, managing 41 goals and registering 34 assists in 175 appearances in all competitions, but his career has suffered since his departure.
The midfielder only played twice for Man United in the first half of this season before he was loaned out, and his struggles have seen him lose his position in the Netherlands squad.
Man United are facing a midfield revamp this summer
Man United are expected to be active during this summer's transfer window under the leadership of new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, with midfield seemingly identified a key area for the club.
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are being heavily linked with moves away from Old Trafford, while Sofyan Amrabat is not expected to join the club on a permanent basis.
Amrabat arrived on loan from Fiorentina last summer, and the Red Devils have the option to bring him in on a permanent basis later this year for €20m (£17.1m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.
However, the Morocco international has struggled to impress in his 22 appearances, and he is expected to head back to his parent club at the end of the campaign.
Wolverhampton Wanderers' Joao Gomes and Benfica's Joao Neves are said to be admired by Man United, with the club potentially bringing in two central midfielders ahead of next season. body check tags ::
