Bayern Munich have reportedly shelved their interest in Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz as they bid to complete a summer deal for Manchester City forward Leroy Sane.
Havertz scored 20 times in all competitions for Leverkusen during the 2018-19 campaign and has again been in strong form this season, contributing 10 goals and eight assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
Bayern have been strongly linked with the 20-year-old in recent months, but according to Bild, the Bundesliga champions have ended their interest in the Germany international to focus on Sane.
The reported news is likely to come as a boost to both Manchester United and Liverpool, who are also believed to be interested in signing the youngster ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Havertz, who has a contract at the BayArena until the summer of 2022, recently revealed that he was "ready to take a big step" in his career, hinting at an exit in the upcoming window.
Leverkusen are believed to value the attacker in the region of £100m.
