Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on signing Chelsea striker Timo Werner, after the appointment of former RB Leipzig manager and sporting director Ralf Rangnick.
Werner has managed one goal in eight Premier League appearances this season and only struck six times in 35 outings during last term's Premier League campaign.
Sport Witness reports that Rangnick will oversee major changes at Manchester United when his interim job finishes next summer, and Werner has been added to a list of transfer candidates, along with Erling Braut Haaland.
Rangnick signed Werner for Leipzig in 2016 and he is believed to trust the 'sensible striker' as he performed well for the German outfit during his four-year spell at the Red Bull Arena.
It is claimed that it will not be an easy task to convince Chelsea into letting Werner join Man United, but strong links between Rangnick and the striker may persuade the German international.
In total, Werner has scored 15 goals and provided 16 assists in 64 appearance for the Blues. body check tags ::
