Facundo Pellistri will reportedly be remaining with Manchester United beyond the transfer deadline, with the attacker holding successful discussions with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Uruguay international's future over the last few weeks, with a number of clubs said to have expressed an interest in his signature.

According to The Athletic, more than a dozen teams have been in touch with Man United to discuss the attacker, with Sheffield United and FC Twente among those.

However, the report claims that Ten Hag made it clear during recent discussions that he wants the 21-year-old to continue his development at Old Trafford rather than depart on another loan.

Pellistri has featured in two of Man United's three Premier League matches this season, appearing off the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

The South American has another two years left to run on his contract, having penned a five-year deal at Old Trafford upon his arrival in the summer of 2020.

However, it is being reported that discussions have already been held over a possible extension, with Pellistri very much in Ten Hag's plans both now and in the future.

The forward has had two separate spells on loan with Spanish outfit Alaves during his time at Man United.

However, he remained at Old Trafford last season and featured on 10 occasions for the first team, including four outings in the Premier League.

Pellistri recently hinted that he would be staying with Man United this season, claiming that he is improving training alongside his teammates every day.

Man United are not believed to be planning to move for a new forward before the end of the transfer window despite the recent speculation.

However, a new goalkeeper will arrive to replace Dean Henderson, who is on the verge of joining Crystal Palace, with Fenerbahce's Altay Bayindir expected to be confirmed as a new signing in the near future.

The Red Devils are also in talks with Fiorentina over a move for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, while Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon is allegedly heading for Old Trafford on loan.

Amid the transfer speculation, Man United are preparing for their next Premier League match, which comes away to rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon. body check tags ::
