Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to outbid Chelsea as they each consider making offers for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
Since moving to Naples in 2020, Osimhen has established himself as one of the top attackers in European football, scoring 54 goals from 93 appearances in all competitions.
While Napoli bowed out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage in midweek, Luciano Spalletti's side hold a 14-point lead at the top of the Serie A standings.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis has frequently insisted that the club have no need to cash in on their most prized asset during the summer transfer window.
Nevertheless, with just over two years remaining on Osimhen's contract, there remains a realistic possibility that Napoli could choose to take the money and reinvest it in their squad.
The Nigeria international has recently acknowledged that he 'dreams' of playing in the Premier League, and a number of clubs have been linked with him in the past.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been suggested as potential destinations for the 24-year-old, who has been tipped to cost in excess of £80m.
However, according to Football Insider, PSG are prepared to blow any offers from their English rivals out of the water.
The report claims that the Ligue 1 leaders are willing to put forward a €150m (£132.48m) proposal for Osimhen during the next transfer window.
That is despite previous reports hinting that PSG will be focused on trying to ensure that they fulfil FFP criteria before the start of 2023-24.
PSG also have doubts over the long-term futures of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who have both been linked with a transfer away from Parc des Princes.
The pair have scored 35 of PSG's 73 goals in France's top flight this campaign, and the club allegedly plan to cash in on Hugo Ekitike once a permanent deal is pushed through later this year.
Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring any developments with Osimhen's future as they look to sign a new central forward of their own.
