Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is reportedly one of six players being targeted by Manchester United as they look to revamp their struggling squad.
The Red Devils have not scored more than one goal in a game since the first day of the season and have slumped to 12th place in the Premier League table.
As a result, the United hierarchy are targeting six major signings before the start of next season, including Saul and Leicester City's James Maddison in midfield and unwanted Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic and Lyon's Moussa Dembele up front, according to the Daily Mail.
The club are also believed to want a centre-back and a left back to bolster their defence, despite the recent big-money acquisition of Harry Maguire.
Should the club manage to bring in some of those names in January - with Mandzukic likely to be moved on by the Bianconeri - then it is possible that some of the academy players being used in the first team will be allowed to leave on loan.
