Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly told Aaron Wan-Bissaka that he is free to leave the club this summer.
Since arriving from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019, Wan-Bissaka has made 149 appearances for Man United, contributing two goals and 11 assists.
Wan-Bissaka appeared to be heading towards the exit door in January after playing just four minutes of Premier League football between the start of the season and the World Cup break.
However, injury issues to Diogo Dalot led to the 25-year-old being handed a run of games in the starting XI.
Since Dalot has returned to action, Ten Hag has tended to rotate the two players after recently revealing that neither Wan-Bissaka nor the Portugal international is a guaranteed starter.
Man United are expected to strengthen the right side of their defence in the summer transfer window, and they have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.
A recent report claimed that Frimpong is favouring a move to the Red Devils over Bayern Munich and Barcelona, who have both been credited with an interest.
With the Red Devils set to sign a new right-back, there is a belief that one of Wan-Bissaka or Dalot will need to be offloaded.
According to Football Insider, the Man United manager has informed Wan-Bissaka that he is free to leave the club this summer.
The report claims that Ten Hag would prefer to retain Dalot's services, and as a result, the Englishman will be deemed surplus to requirements.
Wan-Bissaka has a contract until June 2024, but Man United are now set to listen to permanent or loan offers for the full-back.
The former Palace man still has a role to play this season though, after coming back into the lineup to play the duration of Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton.
Wan-Bissaka will be hoping to retain his place in the side for the first leg of Man United's Europa League quarter-final with Sevilla, which takes place at Old Trafford on Thursday. body check tags ::
