RB Leipzig centre-forward Timo Werner would reportedly consider a move to Manchester United this summer if Liverpool pull out of the race for his signature.
Werner continues to be linked with a switch to Anfield, although it has been suggested that the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak could see Jurgen Klopp's side drop their interest.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Germany international favours joining Liverpool during this summer's transfer window and is prepared to 'wait' for the European champions.
However, Romano has claimed that the 24-year-old would be prepared to consider other bids should the Premier League leaders decide against a move.
United are expected to be in the market for a new striker this summer and have been credited with an interest in Werner, while Chelsea are also believed to be admirers.
The German has scored 30 times and registered 12 assists in 39 outings at club level this term.
