Everton are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto following the departure of Lewis Dobbin.
The Toffees confirmed last week that academy graduate Dobbin has completed a permanent transfer to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
Everton have since re-signed Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds for the 2024-25 season, but they could raid the Championship club again for one of their star players.
According to Football Insider, Everton are ready to make an approach for Gnonto, who would be interested in making the move to Goodison Park.
The Toffees came close to signing the Italy international last summer, but a move ultimately failed to materialise and Sean Dyche's side have since been keeping a close eye on the attacker's progress at Leeds.
Gnonto, who still has three years remaining on his contract at Elland Road, scored nine goals and provided three assists in 44 games for Leeds last season as the Whites finished third in the second tier and lost in the playoff final to Southampton.
Josep Martinez on verge of joining Inter
Over in Italy, Serie A champions Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on the signing of goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa.
The 26-year-old, who was recently linked with Manchester United, joined Genoa on loan from RB Leipzig in 2022 before making his move to Liguria permanent last summer, and he went on to keep eight clean sheets in 36 top-flight outings in 2023-24.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter have reached an agreement with Genoa to sign Martinez for an initial €13.5m (£11.4m) plus €1.5m (£1.3m) in add-ons.
Martinez is said to have agreed personal terms over a long-term contract and all the required documents are 'ready' for the transfer to be completed.
The arrival of Martinez will coincide with the departure of goalkeeper Emil Audero, who will return to Sampdoria after spending last season on loan at San Siro.
Fiorentina keen to complete Kean deal
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus to sign forward Moise Kean on a permanent basis.
The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Old Lady, but he struggled with injuries in 2023-24 and was reduced to just eight starts and 11 substitute outings in Serie A, failing to score of register a single assist.
Kean is seemingly planning to reignite his career elsewhere as journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Fiorentina have agreed to sign the Italian from Juve for an initial €13m (£11m), which could rise to €15m (£12.7m) with 'easy' add-ons.
Romano states that the deal also included additional 'difficult' add-ons that could raise the overall package up to €18m (£15.2m).
Fiorentina's have stepped up their pursuit of Kean following the departure of Roma loanee Andrea Belotti, who has now joined Como, while the futures of Jonathan Ikone and Nicolas Gonzalez are believed to be uncertain amid reported interest in their services. body check tags ::
