Manchester United are reportedly on course to sign Daniel James from Swansea City in a deal worth up to £20m after missing out on Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho.
Dortmund have held firm over their stance that Sancho is not for sale, forcing the Red Devils to look elsewhere for a young and hungry wide player.
The Evening Standard claims that James, who emerged as a target for United last week, is considered a good alternative, despite only having one season of Championship football under his belt.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has allegedly told executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to wrap up a deal for the 21-year-old as soon as possible, as he wants all his transfer business concluded by July 1 ready for his side's return to pre-season training.
James played a direct part in 11 goals for the Swans in 2018-19 and also netted on his first competitive start for Wales against Slovakia in March.
