Zlatan Ibrahimovic could reportedly sign a new deal keeping him at Manchester United until 2019.
The 36-year-old moved to Old Trafford in 2016 on a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months, but United decided against taking up the extension after the striker suffered a serious knee injury in April.
The Swede made quicker-than-expected progress in his recovery, however, and penned a new one-year contract with United in August before returning to action earlier this month.
According to The Sun, Ibrahimovic had planned to see out the season with Jose Mourinho's side before moving to the MLS to end his career, but has now pencilled in talks with the manager for the New Year as he mulls a longer stay.
The newspaper claims that the player "is aware he has missed a lot of football" and "is also desperate to win the Premier League" before he retires, while Mourinho has previously insisted that Ibrahimovic can continue playing to the age of 40.
Ibrahimovic has made four appearances for United since returning to action, all of them from the bench.
