The Mexican Football Association has confirmed that Carlos Vela will not be selected for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
The Real Sociedad striker, 24, has not played for his country since 2011 because of a long-running dispute with the governing body.
It has now been announced in an official statement that the forward is not 'mentally or emotionally ready' to feature in the upcoming tournament.
Vela has scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Mexico.
