Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he was surprised that his side were able to record a "comfortable" 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round this afternoon.
Bruce made nine changes to the side that were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on New Year's Day and was expecting a tougher challenge.
"Considering the problems we have had with illness it was hard to put a team together and we made nine changes, but it turned out to be comfortable from the start. It turned out really well," Bruce told Sky Sports News.
Aaron McLean and Nick Proschwitz both came into the Hull starting XI and scored to take the Tigers through to the next round.
Despite their goalscoring exploits, Bruce admits that both strikers could leave the club in January.
He said: "Obviously that is a possibility. If an opportunity comes along and suits both players than that could happen."
Hull are currently in 10th place in the Premier League.
