Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has praised the character of his side following their 1-0 win over Cardiff City in the Championship.
Boro earned a second consecutive victory on Tuesday night as Kike's goal separated the teams at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"It was very important because we scored very early and it was good for confidence," Karanka told the club's official website. "We had chances to score a second and we were fighting until the end. We showed character and that's what I want from my team.
"They kept going, kept fighting, and showed good character. Now, we have to keep adding points. Cardiff are a good team. They lost their last game and we had to start with a high intensity. When you are in their situation it can be difficult, but I think they will be in a high position at the end of the season."
Last night's win has seen Boro climb up to eighth place in the Championship table.
