Millwall have condemned Middlesbrough to a seventh defeat in nine games with a 2-1 win at the Riverside Stadium this evening.
The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute when George Friend headed James Henry's free kick beyond Jason Steele and into his own net.
Kenny Jackett's men went further ahead when Martyn Woolford followed up Benik Afobe's shot, which had been palmed into his path by Steele.
The hosts went forward in search of a route back into the game in the second period and hope was restored when Curtis Main tapped in from Friend's squared ball.
Boro thought that they had rescued a point in the fifth minute of injury time, but the linesman had already raised his flag for offside on Scott McDonald.
