A goal in either half allowed Millwall to record a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the New Den.
The home side took an early lead through Darius Henderson, who headed in a James Henry corner.
Henderson's replacement, Danny N'Guessan, set up the Lions' second goal by crossing for Liam Trotter to tap in from close range 15 minutes from time.
New Forest manager Steve McClaren has not seen his side find the net in the club's opening two matches of the season.
On Tuesday, August 16 Forest travel to Doncaster Rovers while Millwall host Peterborough United a day later.
