James Vaughan scored the only goal of the match as Huddersfield Town beat Millwall 1-0 at The Den this afternoon.
Vaughan came closest to breaking the deadlock in the opening half, forcing a solid save from Stephen Bywater just before the half-hour mark.
Steve Morison tried to force in a header in the final minute of the first half, but Alex Smithies was able to get a glove to the ball, ensuring that the sides headed into the break level.
James Henry created a couple of chances for the home side at the start of the second half, but it was Vaughan who broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, heading in from an Adam Hammill corner.
The striker had a chance to add his second less than 10 minutes later, but his effort bobbled just to the right of goal, while Adam Clayton saw his shot stopped by Bywater just minutes later.
Morison tried another header inside the final 10 minutes, but once again his finish fell into the hands of Smithies, while another headed effort in the closing stages of the match, this time from Shaun Derry, went wide.
