Chivas USA played out their third draw in a row as Montreal Impact came from behind to earn a point in their MLS clash.
The home side started the game well as Marco Di Vaio found space and time in the box, but he could only fire his effort straight at Dan Kennedy, who made a comfortable save.
Chivas responded and the Impact had to be grateful to keeper Troy Perkins for making a smart save to keep out Josue Soto's shot from distance.
After half time, the visitors took the lead when Jose Correa rolled the ball into the path of Eric Avila, who powered a shot at goal only for it to hit the crossbar, but the midfielder was alert and duly knocked in the rebound.
However, Montreal were level within 10 minutes as Chivas defender Mario De Luna brought down Sanna Nyassi inside the penalty area and they were awarded a spot kick. Patrice Bernier made no mistake from 12 yards out as he converted the penalty.
The Impact could have won the game in the dying minutes when Andrew Wenger was put through on goal, but he could only fire wide of the target after beating Kennedy.
