Sports Mole previews Saturday's International Friendlies clash between Morocco and Burkina Faso, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in September, Morocco play host to Burkina Faso in their final warm-up fixture at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have been firing on all cylinders on their own patch of late, while the visitors are winless in their last three matches on the road.

Match preview

Morocco picked up a fourth straight home victory as they claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Ghana on Tuesday.

Jawad El Yamiq scored the only goal of the contest midway through the second-half to hand Vahid Halilhodzic's men a deserved triumph.

The Atlas Lions are yet to suffer defeat in any competition since October 2019, when they were beaten by Gabon.

Next up for them is a meeting against a Burkina Faso side against whom they are unbeaten in four of the last five meetings between the teams.

The most recent clash ended in a 1-1 stalemate two years ago thanks to Zouhair Feddal's 88th-minute leveller.

Burkina Faso were unable to extend their run of matches without a defeat to 13 following a 2-1 defeat against Ivory Coast.

Kamou Malo's men took the lead through Lassina Traore, but they could not hold on to that advantage as goals from Ibrahim Sangare and Amad Diallo turned the game on its head.

Saturday's visitors will be in search of an instant response when they make the trip to a high-flying Morocco outfit.

While they may not be as defensively solid as the hosts, the Stallions have also recorded six clean sheets in their last nine outings.

Team News

With clean sheets in each of the last five matches, Morocco's Vahid Halilhodzic is expected to stick with his first-choice defensive unit.

Hakim Ziyech is likely to be named in the starting XI for Saturday's clash after coming off the bench last time out.

This could see Selim Amallah drop back to the bench, having started each of the last three games for the home team.

Lassina Traore continues to impress for his country, and he has been directly involved in all but one of their last five strikes in all competitions.

Morocco possible starting lineup:
Bono; El Yamiq, Saiss, Aguerd, El Amloud; Amrabat, Hakimi, Taarabt; El Haddadi, En-Nesyri, Ziyech

Burkina Faso possible starting lineup:
Koffi; Tapsoba, Coulibaly, Dayo, Kabore; Ouedraogo, Sanogo, Guira; B.Traore, L.Traore, A.Traore

We say: Morocco 2-1 Burkina Faso

Morocco have the momentum coming into the game, and with the added advantage of playing at home, we are tipping them to get the job done in what should be a stern test for the hosts.
