Napoli maintained their 100% record in the Europa League with a 1-0 victory over Club Brugge this evening, despite fielding a weakened side.
David Lopez came close to handing the Italian side the lead after 12 minutes, but his shot flew just wide of the upright.
Jose Callejon then blasted a free kick into the wall from 25 yards before Mirko Valdifiori was denied by Sebastien Bruzzese's sprawling save.
Just as the first half seemed to be petering out, Vlad Chririches connected with a cross and slammed it into the roof of the net to give Napoli a slender advantage at the interval.
Callejon breached the Brugge defence after an hour, but rushed his shot and fired wide.
Substitute Elseid Hysaj was the next player to go close and although the defender fired straight at Bruzzese, Napoli held on to extend their lead at the top of Group D.
