The agent of Giandomenico Mesto has admitted that the right-back came close to departing Napoli in the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old struggled for first-team football last season, but has been a regular under new coach Rafael Benitez in the 2013-14 campaign.
"Mesto did think about moving because he wanted regular games. However, staying at Napoli was a great move because Benitez has given him his backing," agent Moreno Roggi told Radio CRC.
Napoli currently sit second in Serie A, having won all four of their league fixtures to date.
