New England Revolution secured a 1-0 away victory over Columbus Crew in the MLS this evening, thanks to a first-half goal from Juan Agudelo.
Agudelo's goal came in the 28th minute and ensured that the Revolution gained third position in the Eastern Conference, putting them into the playoffs.
Colombus Crew had tried to push for an equaliser, but were thwarted by a resolute Revolution defence, with the home side's frustrations telling near the end of the game as Dominic Oduro was shown a red card.
Earlier in the day, Houston Dynamo also secured a playoff place following a 2-1 away win at DC United.
