FULL-TIMENewcastle United 3-0 Bordeaux

90 minsThere are four minutes of added-on time to be played.

88 minsPerch is booked for a foul on N'Guemo.

87 minsSHOT! N'Guemo has a go from way out but Harper deals with it easily.

85 minsBellion gets round Perch, but his ball into the box is poor and is cleared by Perch.

83 minsHarper comes out to claim a long ball into the Newcastle box. I think everyone just wants the referee to blow his whistle, Bordeaux players included.

79 minsN'Guemo tries to supply Diabate but the linesman's flag is up for offside.

74 minsCHANCE! Bellion finds himself with acres of space behind the Newcastle defence, but he cannot beat Harper. Bellion made it easy for him, in fairness.

SUBSTITUTION:Tiote makes way for Gosling.

70 minsDan Gosling is warming up for Newcastle. Club Brugge are now two up over Maritimo.

68 minsNewcastle are so very comfortable here. Bordeaux have resigned themselves to defeat, it seems.

67 minsBellion is on for Gouffran to a few boos from the home crowd.

66 minsHe also played for Manchester United. Newcastle are not that fond of either team, to be honest.

65 minsFormer Sunderland forward David Bellion looks ready to come on for Bordeaux.

SUBSTITUTION:Cabaye comes off to be replaced by Birgirmana. He's played well tonight.

56 minsClub Brugge have taken a 1-0 lead over Maritimo in Belgium. If things stay as they are, Group D will be finely poised with Newcastle at the top on four points, with Bordeaux and Brugge on three.

55 minsSHOT! Cabaye has a speculative effort but it was always rising.

54 minsNewcastle look more assured this half. They're passing the ball around now, although there is very little pressing from Bordeaux.

52 minsCabaye wraps his right foot around a free kick into the box. It looked dangerous but Bordeaux manage to clear their lines.

50 minsCisse looked offside as the ball came in. It also went in off his shin.

49 minsFerguson delivers the ball into Cisse, who produces a smart finish on the half-turn to put Newcastle comfortably in control.

49 minsGOAL! CISSE MAKES IT 3-0!

48 minsSaivet has a go at goal but Harper is alert to stop him.

46 minsRob Elliot is also off with a groin injury for the home side. Steve Harper replaces him between the sticks.

45 minsNewcastle kick off the second half. Two changes for the visitors. Guemo comes on for Plasil and Diabate replaces Obraniak.

HALF TIMENewcastle United 2-0 Bordeaux

43 minsAnita is booked for a foul.

43 minsCHANCE! A reverse pass from Obertan sees Anita with a sight at goal, but he can't beat Carrasco.

40 minsSimpson sent a cross in from the right and the Brazilian stretched out a leg and diverted the ball past Carrasco in goal. You see them every week!

40 minsGOAL! HENRIQUE TURNS THE BALL INTO HIS OWN NET!

39 minsAmeobi had the legs on Planus then! The lanky forward had three yards to make up on him and nearly got to the ball first.

38 minsSHOT! Saivet has another long-range effort. This time Elliot is forced to bat it away.

37 minsBordeaux are seeing plenty of the ball and, for the most part, they're on top. They look susceptible to the counter attack, though.

32 minsSaivet whips a ball into the box and Jussie directs it goalwards. Williamson gets in the way and Bordeaux appeal for a handball. It goes behind for a corner. Replays show that the ball came off his chest. Good decision by the ref.

31 minsTiote makes a burst into Bordeaux's half and tries to find a ball into the box, but Carrasco comes out and picks the ball out of the air.

28 minsCHANCE! Some pretty build-up play from Bordeaux results in a chance for Obraniak, but his shot is blocked. Mariano arrowed a ball into Jussie, who took it down superbly before laying it off.

26 minsNewcastle clear and break down field. Simpson will take a throw on the edge of Bordeaux's penalty area.

25 minsTiote comes back on after receiving some treatment. Perch headed a dangerous cross behind for a corner.

23 minsCabaye looks up for it tonight. He's full of running. Tiote is down and is clutching his ankle. It looks like he's twisted it. Doesn't look good for the Magpies.

19 minsTiote goes into the book for a foul on Jussie.

18 minsThat goal was against the run of play, but it seems to have sparked some life into the stadium.

15 minsThe move was started by Cabaye, who switched the play beautifully from right to left with a long raking pass to Obertan. The former Bordeaux player danced around Mariano and delivered a superb cross for Ameobi to touch in at the back post... although he nearly put it wide!

15 minsGOAL! AMEOBI SCORES FOR NEWCASTLE!

14 minsSHOT! Gouffran is afforded far too much space 20 yards out from goal, but his shot is straight at Elliot.

12 minsCabaye strikes it, but it goes wide. It hits the advertising board and rebounds into the net, and some Newcastle fans cheer thinking that it's a goal. Classic.

12 minsAmeobi drives at the Bordeaux defence and is brought down by Henrique, who goes into the referee's book for his troubles. Ferguson and Cabaye stand over a free kick from just over 20 yards out.

11 minsThe French side have definitely started better. They have had some joy down the left, but so far the game has been a bit dull.

9 minsSafe hands by Elliot as he comes out to catch Plasil's long free kick into the box.

8 minsSHOT! Saivet is the next to have a go, but his effort was miles off target.

7 minsSHOT! Obraniak tries his luck from long range but strikes it straight at Elliot.

6 minsCHANCE! Obraniak gets on the end of a great cross but puts his header over the ball. It should be 1-0 Bordeaux.

4 minsPlasil advances into the Newcastle half but is stopped by a great tackle from Tiote.

2 minsSHOT! An early sighter as Cabaye has a dig from outside the box, but it whistles past Carrasco's post.

1 minBordeaux get the game underway at the Sports Direct Arena.

8.04pmNewcastle line up in a striking luminous yellow jersey. Bordeaux in the slightly more sedate black strip with pink trim.

8.02pmThe players are on the pitch and about to shake hands. We're minutes from kick off at the Sports Direct Arena.

7.59pm"I think possibly it's not [a competition we can win], to be honest," says Alan Pardew. The Newcastle manager believes that you need "three or four years of experience" in order to win the Europa League.

7.48pmNewcastle face a tough task tonight, as Bordeaux are unbeaten in 17 matches.

7.45pmGabriel Obertan plays against his old side, of course. He left Bordeaux for Manchester United in 2009.

7.43pmNewcastle have a poor record against French opposition, losing to Bastia, Monaco, Troyes and Marseille. They have triumphed over Metz and Sochaux, though.

7.30pmYou can also follow the other 8.05pm kick off involving a British team in Europe with Sports Mole. Liverpool take on Udinese at Anfield.
