Siem de Jong is hopeful that Newcastle United can show signs of improvement in the coming weeks after the squad fully blends together.
The Magpies, who are currently without a victory in the Premier League so far this campaign, brought in nine new players over the summer in an attempt to improve on last season's disappointing finish.
"It's always a little difficult at the start of the season when you fit in new players," the Northern Echo quotes De Jong as saying.
"You have to get used to each other, and hopefully we can get better in the coming weeks. I think you saw in the friendly games that we still have to adapt to each other a little bit and get to know each other a little better. Friendly games are different to the Premier League, of course, but I think we have players who can score."
Newcastle return to action a week on Saturday when they take on Southampton.
