Newcastle United are reportedly preparing to hijack Everton's move for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
According to The Mirror, the Toffees, who signed Ozyakup's former teammate Cenk Tosun from the Turkish club in January, are eager to see the pair reunited in Merseyside this summer.
The newspaper adds, however, that Newcastle are now in the race for the player, with the Magpies keen to meet the midfielder's demands of £2.5m per season.
The club have allegedly held talks with Ozyakup's agent, Kees Vos, and are preparing to table an offer that could tempt the player into a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal, who sold Ozyakup for £400,000 in 2012, have also been linked with the 25-year-old.
