Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has reportedly landed in Newcastle by private jet ahead of his proposed loan to Newcastle United.
The Magpies are understood to have agreed a deal with the Foxes to sign Slimani until the end of the season, despite a training-ground injury putting the move in jeopardy.
The 29-year-old is now expected to undergo a medical with the club this afternoon and complete his switch to St James' Park before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.
Slimani was a club-record signing when he joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2016, but he has struggled for regular first-team football at the King Power Stadium since his £28m arrival.
The Algerian international, whose compatriot Riyad Mahrez could also be leaving Leicester on deadline day, has made only two Premier League starts for the club this season.
