Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is confident that the Magpies can keep hold of their best assets due to the club's position in Europe next season.
The North East side could secure a spot in the Champions League as they currently sit in fourth place of the Premier League table, three points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
While reports have suggested that the likes of Demba Ba and goalkeeper Tim Krul could be on their way out of the Sports Direct Arena, Tiote believes that there is enough to play for at Newcastle.
"For a long time the fans have not had European football but now, next season we will be in European competition," Tiote told the Northern Echo. "It is great. It is very important for this football club.
"It will definitely convince players to stay. It is important. If the team is playing in Europe, it is better for us to keep our best players.
"It will be difficult to keep our very best players if we are not playing in Europe so to achieve this is good."
The 25-year-old declared his commitment to the Magpies last week.
