Accrington Stanley defender Tom Bender has described footage of the collision that resulted in the fixture with Tranmere Rovers being abandoned on Tuesday as being "like a dream".
The 18-year-old, who is on loan from Colchester, was taken to hospital after suffering a severe concussion during the match.
Fears over the long-term effects of the injury subsided once the player was discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon.
Bender said in a statement: "I've still got an absolutely banging headache and feel a bit sick but I've been told that's all normal for the injury I've had and that I can expect to have it from anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
"I saw the footage on TV and it was surreal because I don't remember anything. It's hard to believe that it actually happened. It sort of feels like a dream. Watching myself lying there unconscious was very strange."
The youngster took time out to send his gratitude to his well-wishers via his Twitter account.
