FIFA anti-corruption expert Alexandra Wrage leaves the governing body due to a lack of change in the organisation.

FIFA anti-corruption expert Alexandra Wrage has quit football's governing body after they failed to act on any recommendations from the Independent Governance Committee (IGC).

Wrage confirmed her resignation this morning due to the lack of change in the organisation, who are not taking any of the IGC's recommendations to the FIFA Congress next month.

The recommendations included the president Sepp Blatter and senior executives publishing their salary and expenses and age and time limits for the president and senior executives.

"It didn't make sense to stay when none of our recommendations are going forward to the FIFA Congress next month. For me going to the Congress would just have been a vacation in Mauritius," Wrage told Press Association Sport.

"The IGC idea was FIFA's idea but it has no means to compel them to adopt our recommendations so if they are not going to do so voluntarily I would much rather work with other organisations who are keen to do so.

"All or our recommendations were set aside. I feel sad for the millions of fans who want change but don't appear to have a voice."

Wrage has previously stated her frustration at FIFA's refusal to act on the IGC's proposed reforms and has appealed to national FAs to adopt the recommendations and raise them at the Congress.
