A number of Premier League players have signed a petition calling for a boycott of the Under-21 European Championships in Israel in 2013.
The move comes following Israel's assault on Gaza in recent weeks which has led to the deaths of a number of civilians.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Arsenal's Abou Diaby and five Newcastle United players, including Demba Ba and Chieck Tiote, are just some of the names who have condemned the attacks.
"Israel hosting the UEFA Under-21 European championship, in these circumstances, will be seen as a reward for actions that are contrary to sporting values," read a statement.
Footballers from other countries such as Spain, Italy, Portugal and Turkey have also put their names to the petition.
