Norwich City have confirmed that they are in discussions with Aston Villa over the compensation fee for manager Paul Lambert.
The Canaries are resigned to losing the Scotsman following the 42-year-old's submission of his resignation to the club, which was initially rejected.
It is understood that both parties are trying to hatch out a compensation agreement, which would then allow Lambert to complete a move to Villa Park, which could come to pass in the next 24 hours.
The former Championship club have confirmed that they are in the hunt for a new manager, with Celtic boss Neil Lennon being touted as a possible replacement. However, reports have claimed that the SPL champions will rebuff any approaches for the Irishman.
