Chris Hughton has said that he is "disappointed" to learn that alleged racist comments have been aimed at him on a Facebook page.
Police confirmed yesterday that they were investigating after remarks were made about the Norwich City manager on the '**OFFICIAL**!!! Ipswich - Norwich fans banter/insult/joke page', which is not officially associated with either club.
"I am very saddened and disappointed. Unfortunately we are in an age where through the social medias it is accessible for anybody to air their views," the Daily Mail quotes Hughton as saying.
"Does it make you angry? Of course it does, but it is very difficult to stamp out completely. Thankfully there are mechanisms in place that can pick out the perpetrators and the companies have to make sure that becomes a priority.
"As manager at Norwich it is something I should not have to deal with or be involved in but that is the case at the moment. As a club we are working extremely hard and we are miles away from the dark ages of a few years ago."
The Canaries, who host Chelsea tomorrow, have confirmed that any fan found guilty of a racist offense will receive a lifetime ban from Carrow Road.
