Norwich City chief executive David McNally has confirmed that he is not planning to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Canaries dropped down to the Championship on Sunday as they ended the campaign with a 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal.

Despite a disappointing season on the pitch for Norwich, McNally intends to stay at Carrow Road and help the team return to the top flight as quickly as possible.

"As far as blame is concerned, as the board we recognise that we have made mistakes, no doubt about that," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"But I also am very pragmatic, and I know that if I felt it was in the club's best interests for me to leave then I wouldn't hesitate.

"I care too much about Norwich City having been here for five years, and invested a lot of time and effort in this great club."

Former Norwich defender Malky Mackay is expected to be named the new manager of the team in the coming weeks following Neil Adams's temporary role as caretaker boss.
